Rechell Singh

Director
Registered Psychologist

“When we talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.” -Fred Rogers

Rechell believes that every individual has the capacity for change and fulfillment. As a therapist, she is dedicated to supporting her clients on their journey towards growth and healing. She believes that everyone is unique and therefore tailors sessions to cater to these individual needs. Her goal is to empower her clients and nurture their inherent strengths, inner resilience, and healing capabilities.

She is passionate about working with adults, youth, couples, and families. She works to support them on their journey of self-discovery and growth. By being collaborative with her clients, they learn to develop healthy coping skills for self-regulation and managing distress. She enjoys working with families to develop relationships, facilitate healthy communication and boundaries. Rechell also works to assist parents and caregivers to adapt parenting styles that fit the unique needs of their child and allow them to understand the importance of communication that is responsive and developmentally appropriate.

Her approach to connecting with clients is rooted in attachment theory, recognizing that the source of healing lies in our connections with others and, most significantly, the relationship we cultivate with ourselves. To address the diverse needs and objectives of her clients, she integrates a range of therapeutic modalities into her practice. This includes cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, mindfulness techniques, solution-focused therapy (SFT), attachment based, Gottman method and strength-based approaches. She works to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and respectful environment for her clients. She empowers her clients to develop coping mechanisms for self-regulation, fostering self-awareness, acknowledging their emotions, and equipping them with the necessary tools to overcome obstacles that impede their personal development.

Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Psychology, and a Master of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle. She is currently working towards her doctorate in psychology through California Southern University. She is a Registered Psychologist, in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists and the Psychologists Association of Alberta.
