Registered Psychologist

“Every person on this earth is full of great possibilities that can be realized through imagination, effort, and perseverance.” - Scott Barry Kaufman

Kristen believes in supporting and empowering individuals to achieve their fullest potential and the personal growth they are striving for. She understands everyone is unique and adapts her therapeutic method to meet the needs of the individual. Her collaborative approach helps to honour each person’s strengths, resilience, and coping skills.

She strives to provide a non-judgemental, supportive, and safe atmosphere for all clients while recognizing the courage it may require when asking for help. Her goal is to listen to each person’s life experiences while offering compassion and empathy. She empowers clients to achieve their goals while developing coping mechanisms for increasing self-awareness, self-regulation, nurturing positive wellbeing, and acquiring the necessary tools to overcome life stressors.

Kristen is passionate about working with adults and adolescents to help them cope with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, depression, or other life struggles. She also has extensive experience helping clients adapt to the unique challenges from motor vehicle accidents. When supporting clients in their personal path to increased wellness, she utilizes a variety of evidence-based therapeutic practices. She is an EMDR certified therapist and has experience with cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, solution focused therapy (SFT), and narrative therapy.

Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Psychology from the University of Alberta, and a Master of Counselling Psychology Degree from Yorkville University.
