Zoya believes in empowering individuals to process pain, discover their strength and nurture hope. She is committed to fostering a therapeutic environment characterized by trust, respect, and compassion. Her extensive experience and diverse skill set enable her to provide tailored, effective care to her clients, helping them navigate their unique challenges and achieve
meaningful growth. She can offer therapy sessions in Hindi and Urdu as well.
Zoya is enthusiastic about working with children, adolescents, and adults. With over six years of experience, she has experience supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries and comorbid mental health concerns. Zoya utilizes a trauma-informed care approach, incorporates the harm reduction model, and is well-versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), mindfulness techniques and attachment-based interventions.
Zoya works with individuals dealing with substance use challenges, isolation, depression, or low self-esteem, meeting them where they are to help them find connection and purpose in their lives.
Additionally, Zoya supports children aged five and up who struggle with emotional regulation among other concerns.
Her academic journey includes a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Psychology from the University of Alberta, followed by a Master of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle. Zoya is a Registered Provisional Psychologist in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists and the Psychologists Association of Alberta.
