I firmly believe that every individual holds the capacity for change and fulfillment. In my role, I am dedicated to supporting my clients on their journey towards growth and healing. I believe that each person is unique, and I tailor sessions to cater to their individual needs. My goal is to empower my clients, nurture their inherent strengths, inner resilience, and healing capabilities.
I am passionate about working with adults, youth, children, and families. My goal is to support my clients in their unique journey of self-discovery and growth. By being collaborative with my clients, we can develop healthy coping skills for self-regulation and managing distress. I work with families to develop relationships, facilitate healthy communication and boundaries. I also assist parents/caregivers to adapt parenting styles that fit the unique needs of their child and allow them to understand the importance of communication that is responsive and developmentally appropriate.
My approach to connecting with clients is rooted in attachment theory, recognizing that the source of healing lies in our connections with others and, most significantly, the relationship we cultivate with ourselves. To address the diverse needs and objectives of my clients, I integrate a range of therapeutic modalities into my practice. These encompass cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, mindfulness techniques, solution-focused therapy (SFT) and strength-based approaches. I am dedicated to providing a safe, non-judgemental and respectful environment for my clients. I assist my clients in cultivating essential coping mechanisms for self-regulation, fostering self-awareness, acknowledging their emotions, and equipping them with the necessary tools to overcome obstacles that impede their personal development.
Some of the areas I work in include:
Stress & Burnout
Family of Origin Concerns
Grief & Loss
My academic background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Psychology, and I earned a Master of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle. I am a Registered Psychologist, in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists and the Psychologists Association of Alberta.
