Kirsten Stanton

Hi, I’m Kirsten, and I’m excited to introduce myself!

I am a registered provisional psychologist who provides individual, couples and family therapy to children, adolescents, teens, and adults. I believe making the decision to come to therapy is an empowering step; one that takes courage, strength, and self-reflection. My approach is founded in the idea that a strong therapeutic alliance is built on compassion, honesty, and a safe, inclusive, space.

Life can feel really heavy sometimes and I am a firm believer that no struggles are too small for therapy. The journey to healing is uniquely different for each individual and my approach is based on the idea that everyone has the right to live a fulfilling life, regardless of the traumas and adversities they are faced with.

I am a certified DBT therapist with training in CBT, EMDR, and Solution-Focused Therapy.  My main areas of interest include:

- Anxiety/Depression

- Body Image Issues and Disordered Eating

- Self-esteem/Confidence

- Mood Disorders and Perinatal Mood Disorders

- Childhood Trauma

- Emotional Regulation

- Marital Concerns

I graduated with my Master in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University. I practice from an integrative, evidence-based approach that takes into account differing theoretical orientations to best suit your particular needs. I aim to provide mental health services that promote social justice and accessibility. As a mother of two young children and working previously as a school counsellor, I understand the struggles that children and teens are facing, along with the difficulties of parenthood.

If you think we may be a good fit and are interested in getting connected, please contact our office or book online. I would be honored to walk alongside you in your healing journey.
