I approach my work with a diversity of strategies and skills tailored to support and guide the goals you have prepared to accomplish. I truly believe that most people can find counselling beneficial and empowering at some point in their lives. My focus is to provide you with a valuable and effective direction that will help you improve not only how you see yourself but also your outlook on life as a whole.
From growing up as a base brat and marrying an Emergency Medical Technician, I have a closer understanding and connection with working with first responders and regularly work with Veterans, RCMP officers and emergency medical specialists. I have training and experience with trauma-related counseling using EMDR Therapy and cognitive-behavioural therapies focusing on symptoms of trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief and relationship issues.
I work with couples using Gottman Method Therapy to guide you and your partner become better friends, focus on your communication strengths and boundaries, and create new ways to support each other as a team. This way you can achieve a sense of understanding and both explore your personal defenses that may sometimes result in difficulties in your relationship.
