Welcome to Ward and Associates!

I believe that taking care of your mental health is crucial to enjoying good overall health. By looking into therapy you have taken an incredibly important step towards health. In my experience, talking about the tough stuff can be daunting… but also so rewarding. I believe that anyone and everyone could benefit from learning more about themselves and getting a better understanding of their thoughts, emotions, and reactions.

I often work with people who are dealing with symptoms of PTSD. If you have lived through a distressing experience, you may find that you’re still haunted by certain memories, or that you’re still very reactive to certain reminders. I would love to help you put those memories to rest. I am trained in several treatments (Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure) that have been proven to benefit individuals with PTSD. Making peace and moving forward is possible.

I have experience working with people who experience all sorts of different types of anxiety. If you struggle with feelings of anxiety, panic, worry, or obsessiveness, I wouldn’t be surprised if work, school, or day-to-day tasks seem exhausting and overwhelming. I would love to help you develop coping skills and techniques that help manage and decrease anxiety. I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), an effective treatment, to help explain and alleviate anxiety. Regaining control and confidence is possible.

I also work with people who have difficulty understanding and managing their emotions. These people tell me that their emotions are intense, unpredictable, and difficult to control. If you find that your emotions are overwhelming and that these emotions make relationships with others difficult to maintain, I would love to help you find stability. I am trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), which is helpful in learning how to be mindful of one’s emotional experiences, tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and be more effective in interpersonal relationships. Developing a sense of balance and security is possible.
